Western Arms Smith & Wesson 1911 SCW

Western Arms will be releasing the new Smith & Wesson 1911 variant with its Shibuya Custom Works system. I know this may not seem like anything special after all the 1911 variants WA has made to date, but this pistol marks a new relationship between Western Arms and Smith & Wesson and we may see WA producing more Smith & Wesson models in the near future.

WWII-Era Rifles Come to Airsoft

Smokies Gun Factory has updated their website with details of their gas M1 Garand release, which is now set for a Spring 2005 release according to their paperwork. Like any release date that's quoted, though, this can always slip. From their release news it's a pretty safe bet that their patent/licensing issues have not been cleared up. It's always fun to watch Airsoft releases.. .they are like buses, you wait years and years and then four come along at once - it's almost guaranteed that by the end of the year M1 and M14s will be found all across Airsoft sites around the world. The product is listed with a magazine capacity of 12 a weight of 3kg and is 1110m long it's also made from real wood and metal parts. The gas M1 Garand will no doubt prove to be popular when it's released.

TM M14's Early 2005 Release Has Been Delayed

Rumors are circulating that Tokyo Marui has stopped the production of their newest AEG, the M14. They have encountered problems with the new Version 7 Gearbox, which was to be introduced in the M14. Also, TM is splitting the M14 into two styles. The Marine M14 will have a plastic OD stock, while the Army M14 will have a wood stock. The suggested retail price for this AEG will probably be over $300. I will post more information on the release date as soon as it is available.

Classic Army to make more reliable version of the M249 SAW.

Classic Army is rumored to have a new M249 SAW in production. Thank God somebody did something about the TOP version, which, in my own words, is a piece of shit that will break after two days of light use. The CA version will come with a high-quality gearbox, so it won't break down anytime soon. It is also alot cheaper than its TOP counterpart, hitting the markets at $500-$650. The release date is set for sometime this year, so be on the lookout for this awesome gun.
